I filmed this wedding in 2018. It was a Muslim wedding – which means the private ceremony was actually the day before. This is the day after the official wedding.
The shared ceremony that I filmed started with a drumming procession from the lobby of the hobby, up the stairs and into the main ballroom setup for the women. The couple enjoyed their first dance, the cake-cutting, and then more dancing with family.
Afterwards, the men and women separated for several hours for dinner and dancing. That portion of the evening is excluded from the highlights out of respect for the women. My second videographer (who was a man) stayed in the men’s ballroom.
The couple ended the evening with another escort into the main ballroom with drums, dancing and a late-night goodbye.
